What Role Has Education Played in Your Life?
For some of us, formal education represents a transformative experience that changed the course of our lives. It set us up for success, expanded our minds, and gave us wonderful memories. It’s hard to imagine where we would’ve ended up without it, but it’s probably bleak and unrewarding.
For others, it represents lost opportunities. It kept us out of the workforce, didn’t teach us the life-skills we really need, and suppressed our imaginations.
In 2020, the value of education is polarizing. On one hand, education systems are experiencing massive budget cuts as governments deprioritize them. On the other hand, ‘degree inflation’ is making it increasingly necessary for people to go to school.
